Trail is in good condition, good traction and dry ( a couple small muddy spots). Any shoe you feel comfortable running with should be fine.
Weather tommorow should be great. 50 at start 67 at noon, high 71.

Is the taper already driving you crazy? Is the excess energy oozing out of your ears? Your wait will be over soon, only a couple of days to go, before you get to hit the beautiful trails around Blue Marsh Lake.

Blues Cruise 50K 2009 is supported by Hammer Nutrition. The official sports drink will be Heed, and your goody bag will contain a Hammer gel and 4 Endurolyte electrolyte replacement capsules. In addition to that, we purchased extra gels (tropical and espresso) , that you can get at the aid stations. Besides Heed, there will be water, Coke and Mountain Dew. Plenty of snack and food items available at the aid stations.

In order to get started on time, we ask all the runners to check in on time.

Planned schedule for race day.

6:30 AM Gates to park open

7:30 AM Registration opens

8:20 AM Prerace briefing

8:30 AM Race Start

12:30 PM Winner crosses finish line

12:45 PM Fire up the Grill, Linda and Thekla start serving Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Potato salad as well as German Potato pancakes and apple cake.

2:30 PM (approximate) Award ceremony, stick around even if you didn't win. We will raffle off some stuff.

4:00 PM Cut off, EMT will leave the premises. Run at your own risk

5:00 PM End of a hopefully great day for everyone.

Registration for mail-in apps is closed. If you have mailed yours in early this week and we get it today or
tommorow, we will take it, but if it is still sitting on your desk, do not mail it anymore.
You can still register online for the remaining spots for guaranteed shirts/finisher award (might close, if all spots sell out). Raceday registration is definetely available ($70 with all the goodies, $55 without), but we might have to mail you your stuff.

Cutoff date to mail in your app has been pushed back for 24 hours. You can still mail your app in, if it is postmarked by Monday 9/21. Afterwards you have to sign up through active.com. Fee will go up $5 because we may have to mail some shirts and finisher awards, if we get more entries then shirts. You can sign up day of race also ($55 no shirt , no finisher award or $70 with shirt and finisher award - trust me, worth the extra $15 and more), however we can not guarantee we have shirt for you that day, but will mail it to you . Even , if you make up your mind 48 hours before the race (online reg. closes midnight Oct 3rd), sign up online, this way we know , you are coming, and we can email you the info about the current situation.

Please check back here a couple times before race day. We will not send out emails, but will post all important info , updates about race day here.

after 4 years of successfully directing the Blues Cruise 50k, Rick Moyer handed the race over to Stephan Weiss
and Mike Yorder. Rick Moyer has now moved on to become the new RRCA PA State representative. We thank Rick for
all his hard work and dedication to the race.
